Old Lamp Restyled into something really girly! :)

I had this old lamp that we were not using anymore so I got this bright idea to fix it up for my little girl's room. Then I remembered some fake rose petals that I bought on clearance (25 cents per package) after Valentine's Day last year from Wally World! Here is what I started with. . .
I started my using some 1" wide white grosgrain ribbon that I had on hand and glue that around the bottom edge of the lampshade just to make sure things looked neat.
Then came the fun part. . . I started layering and gluing down the pink rose petals to the lamp shade. Just a dot of glue at the top edge is all I used.
And, I kept layering and gluing. . .
I also painted the base of the lamp with spray primer and white paint. And, here is what I ended up with! I LOVE it and my little girls LOVE it! :)
And, here it is with the light on. . .
I linked my project up in these places. . .

  1. Hi Melinda, that shade is so cute! You must have lots of patience to glue all those pedals! I'd love to have you link up to Tuesday's Nursery - a new blog party just for kids decor. I open the links late Monday, but feel free to get the button now to help remind you! And if you have more creations of kids decor feel free to link those up as well. I hope you can make it! Following from Transformation Thursday - nice to meet you!
